As a result of misogynoir, Black mamas and caregivers are perpetually excluded from decarceration tactics in spite of their disproportionate representation in jails across the U.S. NBO is a collective led by Black women and femmes, with a clear Black feminist mandate — to free our people and center those who have been historically marginalized. The #covid19 crisis has highlighted what we have already known and surfaced a new urgency to #FreeBlackMamas from the harsh confines of a cage, to mitigate the risk of illness and even death. Help break open cages by donating to pay bail and provide supportive services for someone who can’t afford it!
